2012 BCS National Championship: Alabama, LSU Square Off; Which Team Will Win? (PREDICT)

When all the ballots were counted and computers finished their calculations, two teams, once again, stood above the rest in college football: LSU and Alabama.

LSU has been unquestionably the best team in college football this season and should be playing in front of a favorable crowd in the Superdome. The Tigers have won the last two BCS championship games that have been played. And with their balanced offense and suffocating defense, they should be favored to make it three in row.

Alabama running back Trent Richardson may very well need to make some extra room in his bag to pack a Heisman trophy when he leaves for New Orleans. The Crimson Tide's best player has been nothing short of dominant against tough SEC defenses amassing over 1,500 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns this season. Richardson played well in his team's loss to the Tigers in November accumulating 89 yards on the ground and 80 yards receiving.

Will LSU complete their undefeated season? Or will Alabama avenge their November loss and take home the BCS title? Which team will win the BCS National Championship game?

Which team will win the BCS Championship game? ?

  • LSU Tigers

  • Alabama Crimson Tide

I am for LSU. I don't get the school mascots in Alabama. Roll Tide and it is an elephant--Auburn Tigers but they have an eagle as a mascot. Tosh.0 is right, Nick Sabin is a sell out and Alabama, the state, is one big joke in poor taste.

LSU has already beat Alabama in AL. If AL beats LSU on a neutral field who is the National Champ? The BCS should be called the BS. LSU should be playing OK State for the national championship. Both OK State and AL have identical records. OK State should have been given the shot.

Identical records, really??? OK State wouldn't stand a chance...and OK State didn't play the same caliber teams that AL did throughout the regular season....zero comparison! who wants to see a blow-out during a Championship game...the top 2 teams that belong there were chosen!

LSU is lucky they dont have to play USC this year.

You're right. It would decrease LSU's BCS points because most of the teams they played were better than than USC. If LSU beat USC they would probably end up #2 in the BCS.

That's funny. The only team both teams played was Oregon, and both the Ducks. If USC was eligible to be ranked in the final BCS they would have been a top 5 team. But it is what it is and when next season rolls around, we'll see what happens then.

LSU is attempting to be the National Champion by playing a non-Conference Champion…again.
USC could beat both these teams at the same time…with one hand tied behind the quarterback!

Talk is cheap. We knew USC's coach at Tennessee. Couldn't cut the SEC.

That's funny, because is that why they lost to Arizona State and Stanford, because they were playing them at the same time.... with one hand tied behind the quarterback?

When USC played Arizona State, many of their players, probably half, were freshmen and sophomore's playing in their first away game. Towards the end of the season they got better with each game. In spite of 2 losses the AP has USC ranked number #5. I'm excited to see USC next year regardless of who the quarterback is.
