Florida Private Island Listed At $12 Million (PHOTOS)

OK, let's divide the world into two groups: The mundane who come up with lists of the three things they'd bring to their paradise island and those of us who simply want the whole shebang. This newly listed private island -- price tag $12 million -- is the whole shebang.

Located about a quarter-mile off the shore of Marathon, Fla., the property is built onto a coral reef and sits 15 feet above the blue, blue sea, offering 360-degree views. The property is known as East Sister Rock Island and comes with a 2,500-square-foot Bahamian-style house. We won't ask what happens come hurricane season.

The property has been used as a luxury private island rental. Its house has a large veranda wrapping around it and bringing the living space to 5,000 square feet. The home has three bedrooms and an open kitchen-dining area, and no neighbors.

But my favorite part is that you can't get there from here. The island is accessible only by boat or private helicopter and there is both a boat dock and a helipad. Wind turbines and solar panels provide all the home's electricity.
