Harvey Nicols Walk Of Shame Ad Makes Stumbling Home In The Morning Look Lovely (VIDEO)

You know what would make your next Walk of Shame better? A smart little cocktail dress from Harvey Nichols -- and some lovely background music.

Harvey Nichols has decided to promote its Christmas wares in the form of a faux PSA. The tagline? "Avoid the Walk of Shame this season."

The British retailer shows woefully familiar shots of gals toddling home in the wee hours of the morning, wearing their metallic mini dresses from the night before, with one even carrying her shoes in her hand (the Barefoot Walk of Shame -- is there anything worse?).

Yet with shots that look like they were taken on Instagram and tinkling piano playing throughout, the Walk of Shame doesn't seem that bad. As long as we're wearing a cute Harvey Nichols frock, of course.

The best day for Walk of Shame spotting is November 1st. This year I saw a Pebbles, a sluttty nurse (obviously), and something that I think was supposed to be a mermaid.

I think that was the point. The shame is all the terrible dresses. The girl at the end was just so fabulous in her Harvey Nichols frock that there was no shame in her game, even the morning after.

At first I was irritated by the add, as if these women had anything to feel ashamed about - it isn't anyone's business what they were doing all night. But then, at the end I realized the reason for their embarrassment was their too tight, too short, inappropriately fitting dresses and not their choice to stay out for whatever reason. The last women seemed shy, not remorseful. She looked like a lady the morning after, not a hooker.

I think the secret to the dress not screaming " walk of shame" is keeping the jubblies covered and making sure you aren't poured into a 6 when you should be wearing a 12 .

I live in the Greenwich Village and when I go down to the bodega for the paper on weekend mornings, I’ve seen many of these “walks”
Surprisingly, a cheerful “Good Morning” doesn’t get quite the response you’d expect.

This is fantastic on an international level!  It's amazing how something that looked smoking hot the night before, takes on a whole new meaning the next morning.  In daylight.  Where the Moon is alarmingly bright.  Hypothetically speaking, of course...

Takes me back, way back. It was a new hotel where there was no running water on that particular morning. Thankfully, a few of my friends lived two blocks away. I should have done a mirror check before leaving that hotel room because my friends burst out laughing when they opened the door and saw me standing there.
