'The Cabin In The Woods' Trailer: Joss Whedon's Long-Delayed Film Revealed (VIDEO)

Beloved Filmmaker's Long-Delayed Film Revealed

Joss Whedon and Chris Hemsworth have an intense, thrilling film coming out in 2012. Scratch that, two intense, thrilling films coming out in 2012.

The acclaimed TV and film producer/director and the rising Australian star just teamed up on shooting the Marvel epic, "The Avengers," this summer, but they actually worked together much earlier. In 2009, the pair shot "The Cabin In The Woods," a horror sci-fi flick about a bunch of kids who set out to weekend in a... you guessed it, cabin in the woods. Hemsworth played the hard-partying jock of the group -- they all seemed to fit perfect stereotypes -- while Whedon produced the whole shebang.

The film was delayed two years because of the old Hollywood finance game -- 2009 and 2010 weren't too kind to studios -- but the film is finally set to hit theaters in April. For fans of "Buffy," "Firefly," and so many other shows, this is a long time to wait, but then, frustration is nothing new to Whedonites.
