John Rich, Country Star, Booted From Southwest Flight

Country Crooner John Rich Booted From Southwest Flight

Celebrities are just like us. They even get kicked off of planes like the plebeian folk. And, the latest celeb to get the boot is country singer John Rich.

Rich, of Big & Rich and Lonestar fame, was heading home to Nashville from Las Vegas Sunday. He reportedly appeared drunk when getting on a Southwest flight, according to TMZ. Crew members asked him to exit the plane, and the singer complied.

"The customer was rebooked on a later Southwest flight out of Las Vegas, but chose to make alternative travel arrangements," an airline representative told TMZ. "We have processed a refund for the customer and his travel companion."

It's still unknown what ultimately caused Rich's removal, but his spokeswoman told CNN that it was "absolutely not" due to an altercation.

According to The Boot, the "Celebrity Apprentice" winner isn't shy about occasionally imbibing. "I've got a King James Bible in one hand and a Crown Royal and Coca Cola in the other," he once joked.

Rich is in good company. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was kicked off a Southwest flight for his baggy pants, and diva Whitney Houston almost was removed from a Delta plane over an unbuckled seatbelt. "The L Word" actress Leisha Hailey was reportedly kicked off a Southwest flight in September for "excessively" kissing her girlfriend on board.

In 2010 director Kevin Smith faced down Southwest after he was removed from a flight for being "too wide for the sky."
