Year In Review: World Leaders Ousted In 2011

2011 was a tough year to run a country. Between the Arab Spring, European debt crisis, and devastating natural disasters, presidents and prime ministers had to tread with caution. The leaders below were not so successful in navigating tumultuous times.

Some had been in power for decades, while others had fairly short runs in office. Some were brutally killed, while others walked away physically unscathed. From Europe to Asia to Africa, in 2011 the people made their voices heard.

From deposing dictators to voting out politicians, the citizens of Tunisia, Egypt, Japan, Libya, Greece, and Italy demanded the removal of their leaders.
