Beyonce's $100 Million Lawsuit Gets OK From Judge

A judge approved a $100 million lawsuit against Beyonce in which the pop superstar is accused of "double-crossing" a video game maker after she inked a deal with the company to produce a game based on her.

The singer made a request to toss the suit filed by Gate Five, but a New York judge denied her request yesterday, giving the go-ahead for the company to pursue their case against her, the New York Daily News reports.

Without explaining, [Supreme Court Justice Charles] Ramos ruled Gate Five can proceed with civil action charging that Beyonce "double crossed" the firm when she abandoned its project to make a dance videogame.

The Associated Press reported on the lawsuit in April noting that Beyonce made a lucrative agreement with Gate Five back in June 2010 for a game called "Starpower: Beyonce," but later demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.

The suit also claims that the singer's stunt drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five's business, forcing 70 people to lose their jobs.

Despite the loss she's facing, reports put Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z's net worth in the (still comfortable) $750 million range.

Can we hear the facts of the case and see what happens before judging that she automatically is in the wrong? People are so jealous! LOL Most of you probably couldn't even handle her money or fame but are quick to judge. Get a life! People file lawsuits daily, doesn't mean they'll win.

What is so terriby wrong with people wanting to make money...and as much as they can? I am definitely no fan of Beyonce's (at all!). However, I am a fan of people working hard to make as much money as he or she would like.

It never ceases to amaze me how humans tend to "dis-like" one another for the most ridiculous reasons. And oftentimes it boils down to jealousy.

yet people do all the time and we have thousands of cases on breach of contract and many more that get settled out of court. It may have been an oral contract with terms that were unclear, gratuitous, or may have had a favorable exculpation clause concerning her pregnancy. Shes a multimillionare so you'd be naive to think she doesn't have a competent attorney advising her on this and isn't running around willy nilly breaking contracts.

I can understand a person being ambitious. But Beyonce does way too much for my taste. She's constantly in the public eye for one reason or another. I used to like her.. back in her Destiny's Child days. But now, I can't stand her. Her "need" to take on more and more projects is crazy. Singing and wanting to realease (what used to be) decent music. I got it. Acting.. ehh.. I understood that too.. kinda. But a clothing line? Perfume? Video games? Albums every six months!?!

Beyonce, you've overloaded us. Please.. just give it a rest for while. Maybe her having a child is a blessing for a human-kind.. maybe she'll quit for a few years to raise her kid, sparing us from anymore superficial, 'I-have-a-nice-voice-but-I'm-gonna-use-it-to-sing-dumb-songs' cr@p!

Give them about $5,000,000.00 and tell them to have a nice day. No need to drag your name through the mud or even deal with the BS. Until the judicial system is fixed in America you don't stand much of a chance at winning this one. You will be ordered to pay something, lose money on lawyers, lose time that could be better spent, and have your name dragged through the mud. Plus, if you signed a contract which it seems you did then chances are you are screwed either way.

I am not surprised because she seems to be doing to much like her world is going to end tomorrow. She clearly stated in an interview I came across that, "she didn't want to get old as a musician and run out of money". So, she got the attention from her dad and it didn't keep her parents together and now the real world is catching up. She's having a baby and things she won't be able to control.
