Police say a man walked into Oak Park's Bleeding Heart Bakery around 7:15 p.m. Monday, approached the cashier and demanded cash from the store's register. The victim complied, and the man then ordered the female clerk to the store's basement, where he took money from a safe.
He then locked the employee inside a "store room" before leaving. The man also made off with the employee's cell phone and car keys. In total, the man made off with more than $3,500, authorities said.
