WATCH: Lauderdale Lakes Bus Passenger Throws Trash Can At Driver

Another Bus Driver Attacked

It's a bad time to be a Broward County bus driver. On November 18, a 19-year-old, santa-hat-wearing passenger hurled a rock at a Lauderdale Lakes bus window after verbally abusing the driver. Just a week later, another disgruntled passenger was caught on tape aboard a bus in Lauderdale Lakes.

Just-released video from the afternoon of November 29 shows the suspect trying to feed $4 into the bus pass dispenser. When his last dollar isn't accepted, he begins to argue with the driver, ultimately threatening to punch him in the face, according to police. After the driver stops the bus and asks the man, the suspect picks up a garbage can and throws it at the driver, who was not injured.

The Broward County Sheriff's Offices hope the above video will help them identify the belligerent suspect, who fled near the 5000 block of Oakland Park Boulevard. After video of the rock-throwing incident aired last week, Broward Crime Stoppers received several tips and the faux Santa was identified as Demetrius Vidale of Fort Lauderdale. His mother also saw the video and turned in her son the same night.
