Rachel Crow 'X-Factor' Elimination: Nicole Scherzinger Gets Hate Mail, Has Regrets

Rachel Crow's shocking elimination from "The X-Factor" on Thursday came thanks to America's voting, but given her involvement in the process, judge Nicole Scherzinger was feeling her own quiet grief while Crow flailed and sobbed on stage.

"When I saw that look on her face [I felt] that I let her down, like I dropped her. I could have been holding on and I dropped her," Scherzinger told reporter after the show, according to People Magazine. "She is the sunshine of our show, so it's hard to see her cry."

Still, the singer/judge still insists that, ultimately, she's not to blame.

"I said, 'You know how much I love and adore you. I've always believed in you,' " Scherzinger told the magazine of her conversation with Crow. "'I'm so sorry all of this happened like this. But I didn't send you home, babe.'"

Of course, the voting public, despite its ballot box decisions, doesn't quite agree -- Scherzinger didn't have to leave it in their hands. "X-Factor" viewers have been flooding Scherzinger's Facebook page with angry comments, with the Insider gathering some of the most scathing.

"You are a disgrace of a judge an ultimately a disgrace of a human being. Time to vote you OFF!!!!" a user named Nick Spadafino wrote. That, though, was mild in comparison to the unending rage sent in by one Harley Brown.

"10Th com.ent and counting, NICOLE IS A COWARD AND A LITTLE B*TCH," she wrote. "DO THE JOB U SIGNED UP TO DO, OR DONT SIGN UP FOR IT. U KNEW U WERE GOING TO MAKE A HARD DECISION, AND U COWARD OUT. STUPID B*TCH."

At least Crow herself isn't mad at Scherzinger. She sent out a series of tweets in support of the judge, writing, "To all my fans I love u so much and I am so lucky to have your support thank u. Please be kind to @NIcoleScherzy I care a lot about her" and then "@NicoleScherzy hi Nicole unfortunately there are haters in this world and I honk you are beautiful inside and out I love you! #blessed."

I tell you what, I listened to Nicole sing a song from her new album, and I will never buy anything or go to any concert that this woman is involved in. I was so not impressed.

No wonder she chose not to vote for Rachel Crow and to go to deadlock instead. Rachel Crow's singing and performance are a thousand times better than that drama queen-wannabe singer, Nicole. If Nicole had been competing against Rachel, Rachel would have won hands down.

Yep! Have to agree whole heartedly. Nichole's singing stinks, IMO. Hope someone signs Rachel.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Marian. It is so reassuring to know that other people heard the same thing!

I really hope that someone, other than Disney, signs Rachel. IMO, I don't think Rachel should be pidgeon-holed as a "Disney" entertainer. She is so much more than that. One thing that Nicole (at least I think it was Nicole) did get right, is that Rachel is an old soul in a young person. Rachel is capable of belting out a song in the old r&b fashion, bringing emotion along with great vocals.

All the best to Rachel. May she find much happiness and fulfillment in her up and coming career!

Rachel Crowe might not have won anyway--the child, family, and any fans need to be more mature about it.

It's almost as if they are pushing for what they want.

Why are the judges still having a say in who stays at this point anyway? If the show had just let the home votes count to start with, it would have been cut and dry, Nicole would not be demonized, and Rachel would have taken it better (I think). They just like the drama of the Sing For Your Life part.

Well, someone had to be the adult in the situation. And that turned out to be the little girl. Nicole didn't do her job after the save song when Rachel obviously did better then the young man, now the bottom three for three weeks. What's the save song for if it's not going to be used. My fear now, is that people are going to take it out on Josh, just because they truely don't like Nicole. Josh is there because of his talent, and not because Nicole taught him anything. My wife does the voting for the two of us, and said it's harder to get through on X factor then it is American Idol. They should have never gotten rid of the female British Judge. At least she had a back bone.

I read that she (Cheryl Cole?) was let go for the American version of the show because we do not know who she is, and her heavy accent...but I liked her the couple of times she was on. And besides, we have a host we did not recognize either - whats-his-face.

I've been seeing this every day in the news since it happened, and have yet to find out what it is that Scherzinger is known for prior to being a judge on this fake show. As for the Crow kid, life isn't fair and you can't always get what you want. Better to learn it now.
12:38 PM on 12/13/2011
If Rachel is so great then why didn't america vote for her. Nicole is not the reason Rachel got voted off. America could have saved her but they didn't. All of you people bullying Nicole need to grow up. You are acting like 10 year olds. In the end it is just a reality show people. It is fake and scripted. They are getting so much attention/ratings from this I bet they are all laughing all the way to the bank.
01:07 PM on 12/13/2011
America didn't get to vote after her last song. And even if Rachel was great (I don't think she's at that level now), it doesn't follow that america would be able to detect it. When it comes to voting americans have a less than stellar record.
01:16 PM on 12/13/2011
Could not agree more. It's a stupid rule that a deadlock goes to a vote that happened before the 'sing for your life' songs are even sang. Even dumber that 2 of the judge's votes usually don't count since they will normally be 2 opposing mentors (just makes it more likely that a deadlock will happen).
12:38 PM on 12/13/2011
The judges should follow their rules of elimination. They announce that the contestant that does the
best they will vote to stay. We all know that Rachel blew Marcus away with her singing. Even
LA his mentor said that she was unbelievable. Marcus was in the bottom 2 three time already,
I think by this time she get the message.
I really think that they should do something to bring Rachel back in the semi-finals, she deserves
to be there.
01:05 PM on 12/13/2011
Well the show is just a pretense to sell commercials but the thing that is really silly is to have them sing for the judges and then the judges not doing their jobs and letting the previous night's result decide the singers fates. Why did they even have to sign then? They could get the public to vote based on the final performance which would be more fair and get judges that are able to take actual decisions in a timely manner without crying like children.

How do you KNOW who got the least number of votes? Nothing is certified. The producers of the show come up with it. This is television. Television believes controversy garners interest and thus viewers and ratings points. Best thing people irritated can do is to boycott watching X Factor. Certainly Nicole Scherzinger IS RESPONSIBLE for Rachel being tossed. Nicole did not do her job as a judge BOYCOTT NICOLE SCHERZINGER's new CD (not hard to do because it is crap) and do not attend her shows. Hopefully Europeans will join with us in boycotting her upcoming scheduled concerts. Don't buy tickets or go. GET LOST Pussycat Nicole!!

Fanned&faved, gregb511. Definitely agree with the boycott idea. As a matter of fact, the X-Factor is just boring now. Melanie (If you close your eyes, I could be Beyonce or Mariah Carey); Marcus (If you close your eyes, I could be Usher); Chris (I'm interesting because I write great lyrics, but can't really sing). Josh is the only one left who has exceptional vocals and is himself, not a wannabe. And, Nicole's "mentoring" has nothing to do with Josh's talent.

Well I think the majority of the comments are pretty dead on, if its about the ratings we are all contributing to that with our comments, if its about rejection and a learning experience it's a cold hard fact of life, if it's about blame we can do that til the cows come home or maybe the X-Factor should eliminate the option of a dead lock. The way I see it, you'll never make everybody happy, it's called "Life" ...

So funny to watch the sheep be manipulated by the show and its "shocking" results. You are being gamed to get ratings.
11:49 AM on 12/13/2011
oh people please!.... get over it... it's a television show!.... manufactured and edited by the producers to have the "shock" effect and gain a larger audience... seriously are you that naive to believe everything you see on tv???.... wow

Well there is not much else on this winter until AI starts...gives us something to talk about.

I was very disappointed at the outcome. What was the point of the "sing-off" - because in fact Rachel's performance was much better than Marcus'. His "mentor" admitted it - but said, "I am a man of principle" and voted Rachel off. His comment did not prove him as "a man of principle" because if he indeed were - he would have voted in favor of Rachel. What all of the "judges" were to do was vote for that person whose performance was best - and vote for that person. It's a sad testimony of just one problem that exists in society today...
11:02 AM on 12/13/2011
America sent the girl home not the judge. She had the lowest number of votes. Any judge can defer their power to America's vote and maybe she got it right since America gave her the least amount of votes. The music industry is brutal this should not suprise anyone.
11:02 AM on 12/13/2011
and another thing... wait until YOUR judgement day... you gonna wish somebody has mercy on you will then want THE JUDGE to be swift and off with your... We will see your day will come then lets see what kind of song you will be singing then & will you remember all the hate you plastered acrossed the world wide web aaaaaaa.

Nicole is not to blame. Rachel already knew it was a competition when she signed up for X-Factor. Before the X-Factor nobody knew who Rachel was so she really should be greatful for the opportunity she got. Rachel is a very talented young girl.
