The results are in for I Want Media's 2011 Media Person of the Year, and the winner is... Steve Jobs.

The visionary and Apple co-founder won the annual contest by a landslide. Jobs received 42% of the votes by readers who were asked to choose the media industry's "most memorable" figure of 2011.

The website praised Jobs for transforming the media industry. "Jobs was able to create hope among traditional media that they could open a 'new revenue spigot' from his company's gadgets and services amid the many challenges of the digital age," it wrote.

Media baron Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp., came in second place with 18%. Below, see the other finalists that readers chose for Media Person of the Year:
