Appearing on the "Today Show" Monday morning, a subdued Scarlett Johansson didn't deny that the past year had been particularly rough, with her divorce from Ryan Reynolds finalized and private nude photographs distributed across the internet after a hacker cracked into her cell phone. Instead, she told Matt Lauer that working on films proved to be some kind of therapy.
"There's a community on film sets and in this industry. It would seem kind of cut-throat, but for me, I've been in the industry for 20 years and it has that familial kind of feel. When I'm working I can't focus on anything but the job at hand, and I think that's some kind of therapy," the "Lost In Translation" star said.
Johansson, who's next appearing in Cameron Crowe's family crowd-pleaser "We Bought A Zoo" with a khaki-wearing Matt Damon, was also the first to admit that she's learned a few things in the process. Appearing older than her 27 years, Johansson reflected on love and loss.
"I've been really fortunate. I've found that I had -- even in times of crisis -- a lot of love around me, and people have come out of all different dark corners to support. That's been a really beautiful thing. And I think I've also learned to be much more tolerant and much more patient," she said.
