Child Homelessness Climbs 33 Percent: 10 States With Highest Rates (SLIDESHOW)

Child homelessness has climbed 33 percent in the U.S. in the past three years, a figure that totals 1.6 million children.

The National Center on Family Homelessness released on Tuesday a state-by-state report card on child homelessness.

Man-made disasters and economic struggles play a part in some states' rankings. Only eight states showed a decrease in child homelessness since the 2006 report was released.
