Star Wars Escalator In Tel Aviv City Hall

Is this the world's most amazing display of interior design? The Eighth Wonder of the World? Admittedly, the landmark looks surprisingly uncrowded -- but that may change now that the video above is making rounds on the Internet.

The escalator, reportedly located in Tel Aviv's city hall, does a convincing rendition of Star Wars' opening crawl.

Artist Dover D. you're awesome! Pity few recognize it and the people going up and down the escalators don't notice your work. Art to many is lost. To the escalator riders they don't even notice it. Man what a shame. Only thing people take notice of is violence and want to see it everywhere. Art brightening up something goes unnoticed by too many.

I'm a hobby artist so I appreciate your work. Good job Dover D.!

When I came to the page there were two videos. One with the girl the second one where they actually show the painting of the stairs with good music. Man most of you people have missed the point entirely! The idea is that an escalator is made into moving art. If that's considered a yawn why did I come here moment, then you've never heard of creativity much less recognize it.

I got more of a view from the second close up video of the actual painting. Love it! Now why can't American escalators be brightened up with artwork. Absolutely loved, loved, loved the music! But I like electric guitar anyway.

First, painting on an escalator detracts the participant and can cause harm. Each step should be painted across the edge of the beginning of the step so each step will not blend in together. Too much graffiti is no longer art and as Sandman said it will just be another way to advertise. Concerning advertisement. TCM say the do not advertise; they spend a lot of time advertising themselves with their 'talk, talk, talk', the sale of items; and scene that have not meaning; used only to take up time. If anyone knows how I can complain to TCM please let me know.

LOL! Really sexyfemalwoman? Well I didn't see anyone in the videos falling off escalators or being pulled underneath. They didn't even seem to notice. That wasn't grafitti. It was actually art and the artist had permission to do it. Maybe you didn't see the pictures of the escalators stopped while they were being painted. graffiti is done without permission. What were advertising? Writing the beginning of Star Wars explaining things? What was they eye advertising? What was the fish and rocket ship with stars advertising? What were the circles advertising? It would be advertising if someone painted a Ritz cracker box and said buy me under it. The scenes have no meaning to many because they're just scenes not aimed with any particular theme. It was the artist's time and he was given the go ahead. It brightened up something stark which too many are too used to. Don't waste your breath complaining to TCM. Why don't you complain to sites who put their stupid commercials before almost every video?
