'Biggest Loser' Winner John Rhode Training For L.A. Marathon (VIDEO)

'Biggest Loser' Champ Plans Marathon Victory Lap

John Rhode was crowned the winner of Season 12 of "The Biggest Loser" on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday he hit the daytime TV circuit to reflect on his incredible weight-loss journey. He also told "Live! With Kelly" (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) that his victory lap will soon turn into a marathon ... the L.A. Marathon, to be exact.

Rhode started off the season weighing in at 445 pounds, and lost an astounding 220 pounds on his way to weighing in at 225 for the finale. The 220 pound weight-loss won him the $250,000, but he acknowledged that staying fit without the help of a team of trainers and dieticians will be a challenge. But Rhode, a special education teacher, said he plans to remain "a student" of fitness to make sure he maintains the healthy lifestyle he embraced on the show.

Training for the L.A. Marathon is what Rhode is focusing on now to keep himself exercising and striving towards a goal. The race takes place on March 18 of 2012, and he's got 95 days to train. It's a daunting challenge, but at least Rhode won't have to run it in the desert.
