Five-Year Engagement': Jason Segel & Emily Blunt Start Wedding Blog

First Posted: 12/14/11 03:54 PM ET Updated: 12/14/11 10:49 PM ET

If there were such a thing a method-acting-via-technology, "The Five-Year Engagement" would really take the cake!

The film, starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, has started a surprisingly real-seeming blog called "Tom & Violet: Our Wedding Blog."

The film images Segel and Blunt as an engaged couple with an ever-lengthening journey to the altar.

In the blog, Tom and Violet share the details about the proposal, the bride and groom and more.

Cheers!

"Five-Year Engagement" hits theaters on April 27th.

You mean "journey to the ALTAR."

I love Jason Segel and Emily Blunt! I might actually see this film.

I hate to be a grammar/spelling Nazi, but I have to say it; when talking about marriage, you go to the "altar," not the "alter." Altar is a noun, alter is a verb.

Carry on!

Not only that but this made me cringe too: "The film images Segel and Blunt ..." pretty sure it should read "imagines" but then again this is what we come to expect. :(

I don't even think the blog is going to save the film. Some rewrites and reshoots might. I love Jason Segal and Emily Blunt both of which were brilliant in this movie. However the story was just too heavy for a romantic comedy and at very few points too silly. For most part it is very funny but the serious parts were too dry and heavy. Hope they have fixed most of by the time it hits the theaters

The trailer is funny and I know lots of women who find Jason Segal extremely endearing and will see the movie for him alone.

I'm sure it has it's issues most romantic comedies do but as far as box office goes I think this movie maybe a real surprise in terms of revenue.

I really hope so, specially since I'm a huge fan of both actors. You can't rely on the trailer alone though, sometimes they put all the funny bits in the trailer and the rest usually sucks. Not the case with this film. I saw it a couple of nights ago and it has tons of hilarious moment and some really heartfelt scenes. But I am worried that it would do good on the opening weekend and that's it. Just recently saw Hall Pass, funny trailer and decent comedic actors but it freaking sucked, it was unwatchable. Again not the case with this film...
