Despite worldwide pleas for sportsmanship and fairplay, sport remains rife with rivalries and the occasional fight. But I don't think we've ever seen a goalkeeper get sent off the pitch for this.
During a semifinal match in a soccer tournament in Argentina, a bizarre incident occurred after Recreativo Estrellas goalkeeper Gabriel Orozco punched a shot over the crossbar just before DM Kart's Nicolas Cardinal tried to score on a header. Orozco noticed Cardinal right next to him, grabbed his opponent and bit him in the face. Cardinal immediately fell to his knees and started bleeding.
The referee saw the bite marks on Cardinal's face and ejected Orozco.
Cardinal was sent to the hospital after he was attended to on the sideline.
