Lawrence O'Donnell: Trump's Debate Cancelation 'Shocked No One' (VIDEO)

Lawrence O'Donnell gloated about the rise and fall of Donald Trump's debate dreams on his Tuesday show.

O'Donnell is one of Trump's most gleefully vicious critics, and he wasted no time roasting Trump for canceling his planned debate. Trump announced Tuesday that he would not be moderating a Dec. 27th Republican forum, claiming that, since he might still run for president as an independent, he could not grill the GOP contenders.

O'Donnell, of course, thought this a risible lie. He said Trump had "shocked no one" by pulling out and claimed that the real estate magnate had been "laughed off the air" by Bill O'Reilly the night before. He also mocked Trump's announcement of the change, which took place on the "always presidential-looking YouTube."

O'Donnell concluded by saying that the debate "was going to be as humiliating for Trump as it surely would have been for Newt Gingrich."

On his blog Political Punch, ABC's Jake Tapper reported "an all-star list of progressive and liberal media folks" had coffee with President Obama in the Roosevelt Room on Monday -- including MSNBC hosts Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Hayes. In the Bush years, it was considered a major scandal for Roger Ailes to send a note to the White House, but MSNBC stars meet with Obama, and it's just another day of "hope and change."

Tapper added the conversation included Obama's economic messaging, fighting corporate influence in politics, the Obama agenda for 2012, the arguments against different GOP candidates, the desire among some Democrats for Obama to highlight his foreign policy accomplishments, and "the 'crappiness' of the Senate filibuster , as one attendee put it." The fairly nonpartisan blog Inside Cable News also underlined "frequent MSNBC contributors Ezra Klein and Joy-Ann Reid" and doesn't like the chumminess of it all:

This is almost as funny as when Obama spoke to Trump's asinine, POTUS birth certificate reports, with the Lion King video clip at the Correspond­ents' dinner. That is a classic!!
Trump is a tired, bad joke - a caricature of his pitiful, egotistical self. Who gives him any credit or takes him seriously anymore? No one I want to know....!

Donald Trump saw an opportunity to get attention for his show and himself. He used two politicians and another network to do it. Sucks to be them. His ratings for 'The Apprentice' are down, He is a self serving individual who will use anyone and anything to reach his goal. The losers here are Newt and the other guy who were pawns either knowingly or unknowingly by a manipulating buffoon. He will never run for POTUS as his finances are too shady and his bankruptcies to embarassing. It's just another look at be trick to keep his name in the news.

Where's Beck in your chart there skippy? Just shows that only teabaggers and old misinformed repugnicants watch a constant diet of FOX NEWS. Most people watch all of TV and not just news. But if you feel better knowing that people that watch a lot of fox are simple. You got it. O'donnell can work on any network. The fox crew is finished when Ailes kicks the bucket.

He'll never run his finances are to shady. Plus he just cancelled a June 2012 lunch in Iowa that was planned at up to $150 a plate for him as guest speaker for when he was going to run for POTUS. He is not running. It's a BS like him.

Trump in my opinion does not represent Republican voters or Politicians.

He behaves often as a bully who almost no one likes and answers questions menacing. One example is when he told all of us he had unreal new from is investigators who he hired about Barrack Obama passport and everyone will be shocked. After one week several reporters asked him where is the shocking news you have about Barrack Obama passport and Trump answers " i WILL SHOW IT TO WHEN I AM GOOD AND READY" and of course he never showed anything.

Please everyone Donald Trump only represents himself not the people and is a bully and one day who will be confronted by another bully and learn respect perhaps!
