CBS Announces Revival Of Famous News Series

CBS News announced on Thursday that the network will revive its famous "Person to Person" series with "CBS This Morning" host Charlie Rose, and "60 Minutes" correspondent Lara Logan.

The revived series, which was made famous by legendary CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow, will maintain many of its original elements. Like Murrow, hosts Rose and Logan will take viewers to the private homes of celebrities, icons and newsmakers. CBS said that the program's format will possess a "freedom and spontaneity" that will "allow guests to introduce friends and family members and show off items of personal or professional significance."

CBS News debuted "Person to Person" in 1953. The series ran for nine years. Murrow took viewers to the private homes of various politicians, writers, actors, scientists and more. The program sought to expose the private lives of public figures to audiences. Murrow interviewed the likes of John and Jacqueline Kennedy, Fidel Castro, Marilyn Monroe, John Steinbeck and more.
