'I Hate My Teenage Daughter': Nikki Bonds With Her Daughter Over Embarrassing Dad (VIDEO)

For two weeks, audiences have watched as Annie and Nikki have struggled to connect with their 14-year old daughters on "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" (Wed., 9:30PM ET on Fox). Last week, Annie made some progress with a forced family game night, but Annie is the more stable and "normal" of the two. Nikki bonded with her daughter, but it was as ridiculous and over the top as everything else she does.

For the second time in three episodes, there was a school dance on the line, and this time it was a father-daughter dance. Since Annie and Nikki are both divorced, they were facing different struggles with their exes. Nikki's ex is the "cool" one, while Annie's ex is so self-absorbed, he's basically an absentee father.

So it was no surprise when he disappointed his daughter for a few puffs of marijuana and a look at a guitar. But Mackenzie's dad did something even worse. He got so emotional during their dance that he started crying! Suddenly, Nikki wasn't the most embarrassing thing on two legs, and the needy mom had something to bond with her daughter over.
