NFL Receiver Arrested For Trying To BuyOf Cocaine

Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd was arrested in Chicago on Wednesday evening on federal charges, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Per that report, the former Cowboys player allegedly tried to purchase drugs from a North Texas supplier.

The Dallas Morning News updated its story with a copy of the criminal complaint, which indicates Hurd attempted to broker a deal with an undercover operative for 10 kilograms of cocaine and a half ton of marijuana per week. The complaint also claims that he wanted the drugs "for distribution in the Chicago area."

The Chicago Tribune reports that a Bears spokesperson said that the organization is aware of the report and looking into it.

Hurd, 26, spent four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before signing with the Bears before the 2011 season. He has eight catches for 109 yards this year.

UPDATE

670 The Score reports that police have a list of NFL players who were supplied drugs by Hurd. According to the report, the list is "in the double-digits."
