Visitors to Tebowing.com can see images from around the world of people striking the signature pose -- going down on one knee and putting head in hand -- made famous by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. There is a picture of someone "Tebowing" in Grand Central Station in Manhattan, Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn "Tebowing" after finishing first in a major ski event and even someone doing it the Forbidden City in China.

It seems like Tebowing has been embraced everywhere... except for Riverhead High School in Long Island, N.Y.

Despite the fact that the "No Fun League" didn't penalize Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch for Tebowing over Tebow after a sack, this sort of behavior has drawn a harsh penalty at a New York high school. Four student athletes at Riverhead High were suspended after staging a Tebowing session in a school hallway.

Connor Carroll, a senior at the school, told Pep Rally, the Yahoo! high school sports blog , that the school administration suspended each of the four students for one day. In the video posted above, several students join in. Yet, only four students -- three football players (including Carroll and his brother) and one soccer player -- were given one-day suspensions. The school's administration cited blocking the hallways as the reason for the suspensions. According to the Riverhead Patch, Superintendent Nancy Carney released a statement on the suspensions:

"It's wonderful that our students look up to sports heroes such as Mr. Tebow, but we can't allow students to create unsafe situations in school. Students cannot block hallways and prevent other students from getting to class. A couple of students who were spoken to previously did not heed to the warning given by administrators, and they were disciplined accordingly."

According to ESPNNewYork, two of the suspensions were rescinded because those students didn't receive the same warnings as the other two.

Carney revealed that she has been receiving hate mail accusing her of suspending the students due to religious prejudice but emphasizes that the suspensions had nothing to do with bringing religion into the school.

"It's a shame that people out there are so ready to judge when they weren't there to see what happened," she said.

As Tebowing was replacing planking, 24-year-old Jared Kleinstein, the creator of Tebowing.com, told The Huffington Post that he and his friends didn't put a religious affiliation on the act.
