Mike Milbury, a former NHL player with the Boston Bruins, has been charged with assault and battery on a child after a rink incident that took place last week, WCVB Boston reports.
Per the report, Milbury is accused of assaulting a 12-year-old hockey player at a youth game at the Dexter School Ice Rink in Brookline, Mass.
Scott Isaacs, the executive producer of sports and news at WCVB Boston, tweeted that Milbury will also be charged with threat to commit a crime and disorderly conduct.
Milbury, a current TV analyst for Versus NHL, played 12 seasons with the Bruins. As an analyst, Milbury established a niche for himself as a vocal advocate for "old school" play.
UPDATE: According to the Boston Herald, Milbury coaches the Boch Blazers whom his son plays for. Milbury's son reportedly got into a "scrape" with an opposing player at the end of the Winter Classic last week. The 59-year-old charged onto the ice and was said to have "verbally berated" and shook the opposing player.
