Nicole Scherzinger Performs Live On 'X Factor'

Good bye Marcus, hello Nicole!

The surprise of last night's "X Factor" elimination show was hardly the send-off of Marcus Canty, the 20-year-old Baltimorean who finally got the boot after sinking to the bottom four times in a row. It was Nicole's Scherzinger's angry, look-at-me-now voice! While the audience is still sort of peeved about Scherzinger's non-decision freak-out last week -- the one that savagely sent Rachel Crow home and outraged 'Merica -- the former Pussycat Dolls star was plotting to take matters into her own hands by facing the music onstage.

And that she did, with a performance of her new single "Pretty." Who knew that Scherzinger possessed such a manic growl and low gutteral register? Who else was confused by the waterfall of metal cascading from her neck her large metal necklace? Who else was kind of scared?

Perhaps Simon Cowell said it best when he, in a spot-on parody of Scherzinger's typically gushy tones, mock-judged: "I believe in you, you believe in me, you transcend the universe, God is smiling on you, life is a waterfall and you are the ultimate rainbow."

How did Nicole do? Watch for yourself and see, and tell us what you think.

I am simply AMAZED at all the Nicole "Haterism" in these posts. That performance was seasoned, and very well sung. The song has more of an angry tone because that's what the lyrics call for. That is part of the performance and what judges CONSTANTLY tell contestants. Develop a connection with the song. She put her all into that song and I can't see how anyone couldn't appreciate that. I suspect there are a lot of posters on here that are somewhat jealous of this woman because they don't feel they are as "pretty". I can't think of any other reason there are so many negative comments about the performance. If you know singing, you would have liked that performance.

HEARD HER AND THOUGHT SHE WAS TERRIBLE. THE CONTESTANTS WERE FAR BETTER. WHO EVER TOLD HER SHE COULD SING ANYWAY? NOT IMPRESSED WITH HER AT ALL AS A SINGER OR A JUDGE. SORRY

The competition in her genre is fierce. Nicole is quite good, she certainly does have experience. All of the current heavies, do have good songs. I think these professionals who do their thing in Xfactor, America /Britain has talent, American Idol, along with other international stars in these reality shows are providing a solid service towards promoting the musical industry.

Candidates who would have never had the chance to break into the music world are given an opportunity, and that is a good thing. Some are winners like Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson etc, and some do not take the advantage.

The sum is, it is good entertainment, it is for a good purpose, and it amplifies interest of all age groups.

Nicole is good, not the best, but good.

I think she performed well. Is she Adele, Beyonce, Sade, or Christina A? No.

I'm shocked at all of the negative comments. While this performance isn't her best -- yeah, there's too much growling -- it's still not awful. If you've heard her sing music that's more suited for her voice, you'd find she is an amazing singer. Pop music doesn't really feature anyone's true talents, does it?

The best part of Nicole's performance was when she finished!!! She sings as terrible as she judges. Time for a NEW judge!!!

Screaming. But she wasn't even out of breath at all at the end- sure it was live?

Her facial expressions scared me.

Well, noone ever said any of the judges on these shows were great singers. Paula Abdul and Jennifer Lopez sound bad even in studio with all the fancy machines. I'd hate to hear any of them sing live. Sit down Nicole, stop ruining it for these kids that actually believe in you.

The only reason she's even famous is because she was once part of an over-rated pseudo-burlesque "singing" group...her only qualifications as a judge are her... how can I put this politely? Physical assets. Which still doesn't make this show suck any less.
