Patrick Wilson isn't a doctor, but he plays one on "A Gifted Man." Wilson stopped by "Rachael Ray" the day after his show was given a new time slot on CBS, and said that he's starting to believe he might actually have the skills of a neurosurgeon.
Wilson talked about the doctor skills he's learned from playing the role of Dr. Michael Holt. "All those things that you don't really think about, like how to hold certain instruments and how to do certain surgical ties." When Rachael asked if his character's identity was starting to bleed into into his own, Wilson joked that it was. "Ya know what, you kinda do [start to believe your own hype]. If anybody has a very specific illness or a cut, I know exactly how to fake getting you better," he quipped.
Fortunately for Wilson, though, that's where the life-imitating art has stopped. Unlike his character, he's not talking to dead people.
