Paul Anthony Edwards Jr., 22, and an accomplice are accused of shooting 66-year-old Paul T. Holloway while he slept. Holloway didn't realize he had been shot until he was involved in a minor car accident and doctors found a bullet stuck in his head.
A minor car crash may have saved a 66-year-old's life.
Paul T. Holloway only realized his roommate was plotting to kill him after a minor traffic accident sent him to the emergency room -- where doctors discovered a bullet in the Florida man's head, according to police.
Holloway, 66, was shot while he slept on Dec. 8 by roommate Paul Anthony Edwards Jr. and an accomplice identified as Christopher M. Martin, both 22, Cocoa Beach police told The Orlando Sentinel.
The pair wanted to free up the apartment for a new roommate and claim Holloway's Social Security check, Florida Today reports.
Holloway awoke when he heard the shot, but thought he suffered a stroke and a subsequent head injury.
"Once he realized he was injured, he basically went back to bed, got up later that afternoon, decided he was going down south for something and got into a minor car crash," Cocoa Beach Police Department Major Jay Harmon told CFNews13.
He did not seek medical attention, but after crashing his car later that day, doctors realized he had been shot. If he never made it to the hospital, he might have perished, police said.
Edwards and Martin have been charged with attempted murder.
As of Wednesday, Holloway was hospitalized in critical condition, according to MyFoxOrlando.

Paul Anthony Edwards Jr. has been arrested in the shooting of his 66-year-old roommate. Edwards and an accomplice allegedly shot Paul T. Holloway once while the victim slept on Dec. 8. Holloway didn't realize he had been shot, thinking instead that he had suffered a stroke. It was only after Holloway was involved in a minor car accident that doctors found a bullet lodged in his head and realized the Florida man was at the center of a botched murder plot, police say.

Well, I guess these two 22 year old idiots (for lack of a better work),
will not have to worry about paying the rent for a few years. Unless
they get the Casey Anthony jury. I hope the victim is alright.

It is medically feasible to be shot; even in the head, without awareness other than pain that one suspects has been a stroke. Why he didn't seek medical attention is perplexing, but perhaps the lack of coverage or the fact that he was able to function somewhat; made him dismiss the symptoms as being unimportant at the time. Men are especially notorious for ignoring symptoms of injury or illness; often until it's too late. As for the two charged; if guilty; wanting to free up an apartment & steal the man's SS check, indicates both an absence of conscience & the fact that they're both two coupons short of a blender.

"How can anyone not know they were shot? If I got shot in head I would be crying like a baby! Either this guy was on drugs or completely impervious to pain!"

Stroke victims are not always able to think straight. My Grandma had a stroke but she didn't even realize it. She went thorugh the whole day as usual until someone came home and noticed that she was drooling and only speaking out of one side of her mouth. My uncle said she'd been that way all day, but he is mentally impaired so he didn't do anything. If he had told someone we might have been able to get her to the hospitalmin time to do so damage control. As it is, she no longer remembers anyone of us.

I am so sorry for Grandma and you all.
At least you still have Grandma.
I woke up a few years ago, looked in the
mirror and was unable to move the left side
of my face. I thought I had a stroke, but, was
able to move my left arm and leg. I went straight
to the doctor's office and she diagnosed me with
Bell's Palsey. She put me on medication and
ordered physical therapy. I also went and had
accupuncture. Today I am fine except for a
slight weakness in my left eye lid, which no one
notices but me. I mention this story because, I
know how scary paralysis can be.
Everyone make sure you have a low blood pressure,
do not use added salt, do not drink alcohol and if you
smoke quit smoking. You will feel much better. Now
start to exercise. Walk daily get a pedometer, Walmart
has cheap ones and walk a few steps further every week.
Before you know it you will be walking 2-3 miles a day,
will have lost weight and look great, no matter what age
you are.
If you thought you suffered a stroke, wouldn't you try to call 911 or at least try to get medical attention after you woke up in the morning instead of trying to drive down south? An if I shot a person, I would check to make sure he was dead and then dispose of the body not let him stay there until the morning.. These guys were definitely high on something. It's such an odd living arrangement, a 22 year old and a 66 year old.

So before the accident he had no idea he'd been shot. He leaves the house and is driving how long?
He then when questioned about it vaguely remembers being shot in his sleep?
I guess I am wondering how the police varified his recolection.
I mean did his roomates admit it? Apparently so. These two have to be the absolute dumbest people on the face of the Earth.
