Detroit Lions Matchup: Oakland Injuries Give Detroit Advantages On Offense, Defense

Are The Lions Ready For Today?

OFFENSE
Oakland's offense is reeling from injuries to key players, such as running back Darren McFadden, wide receiver Jacoby Ford, center Samson Satele. A big blow to the Raiders attack came when Jason Campbell broke his collarbone. They traded for Cincinnati's Carson Palmer, who has struggled to be effective in the new offense after sitting out for the first six games of the season. The team's main offensive threat, at this point, is bruising runner Michael Bush.

Detroit's offense continues to be among the league's highest-ranked, but the Lions have had trouble converting yardage into points. Keeping a healthy backfield has proven to be a challenge, though Kevin Smith could lace up the cleats for a few plays. Look for the Lions to get the ball to Calvin Johnson more than four times, like in last week's game against Minnesota.
