Firefighters arrived at the scene of Granger's apartment, at 1 Times Square in Elgin, around 4:45 a.m. Saturday. They discovered the man's body after they put out the fire, the Chicago Tribune reports.
"An investigation revealed that the victim met with foul play prior to the fire," a police spokesperson told the Daily Herald. Additional details have not yet been disclosed by police.
Charges against the second person allegedly involved in the fire remain pending.
Leach's bond was set at $1 million Monday. She is next due in court Jan. 3, according to Fox Chicago.
