'Good Day LA': Simon Cowell Confident In Melanie Amaro, Talks 'X Factor' Guest Performers (VIDEO)

While a lot of discussions have begun about the next season of "The X Factor," there are three more contestants and still a week yet to go in this inaugural season.

Creator and mentor Simon Cowell sat down with "Good Day LA" (Weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox) to talk about the chances for his remaining contestant, Melanie Amaro, facing off against Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene.

"She will be amazing on Wednesday and she's the right person to win," Cowell said of Amaro. "But I don't rule out Chris." As for Josh Krajcik? "I don't know what he knows that I don't know, but he's very, very, very confident."

Cowell then talked about guest performers, nixing rumors that Mariah Carey had asked for too much money to perform alongside Amaro. All he would confirm, however, was Justin Bieber. "You'll have to wait and see ... because I'm not going to tell you," he said of the other singers who will be pairing for duets with the finalists.

"The X Factor" life performance finale airs Wednesday, December 21 at 8PM ET, followed by the live season finale the next night at 8PM ET.

Chri for sure will win the competition, He has such a stong following, background, performance and also he has a really great character. Chris Rene will definately be getting my 50 votes for sure. Go CHRIS!! Cant wait to celebrate your win :D.

Melanie is incredibly boring and sounds like a few other female singers so if she wins it will just be a shame. She has zero personality as well. I agree, Chris should win--

What Josh knows that Simon doesn't is that Josh is an artist and musician that touches people's hearts--something Simon can't relate to. (/snark)

Mel, while an excellent singer, is too much like Pia--someone who can sing beautifully, but doesn't seem to be able to connect with the songs she's singing. That lack of connection is what got Pia eliminated from Idol. Mel said in an interview that she didn't originally like the songs Simon chose for her; she says she came around to liking them, but I don't believe it and I think that's why she's not connecting with her music.

Chris is a better songwriter, and has a more identifiable personality for people under 20 (IMHO), but his voice is thin and he very often hits some sour notes. His followers won't mind, though, as it's his personality and looks they're responding to, not the music. He's good at selling what he sings.

Josh, to me, is the most all-around artistic person. He has a unique and distinctive voice, has the ability to connect with his songs, and has enough grit,soul, and self-belief to sing the phone book and make people want to dial those numbers. Besides, being a father with a child to support, he's perhaps more motivated than the others to win.

For the above reasons, all MY votes are going to Josh.

I should note that I don't think Chris is a better songwriter than Josh--Josh is definitely a very, very good songwriter. What I meant was that Chris is a better songwriter than he is a singer.
