'Jersey Shore' Snooki Hit With $7 Million Lawsuit

Snooki may be close to her goal weight of 98 pounds, but that likely comes as little relief in the face of a whopping $7 million lawsuit over a merchandising deal gone horribly wrong.

The New York Post reports that Nicole Polizzi, the pint-sized "Jersey Shore" guidette, had shook hands with SRG Ventures to produce a closet-full of Snooki-swag. The move seemed natural, after Snooki's book, "A Shore Thing," hit the New York Times bestsellers list in January and her own perfume line -- aptly named "Snooki by Nicole Polizzi" -- debuted on HSN in November.

But unfortunately for the 24-year-old, a Martha Stewart-goes-Jersey Shore Collection isn't in the stars just yet: Snooki pulled out of the deal in October and claimed that SRG wasn't fulfilling their side of the deal. In response, the company is now countersuing Polizzi with a $7 million lawsuit that alleges that the star brokered separate deals behind the company's back.

As Mike might say, now there's a situation.

None of the Jersey Shore cast would have been noticed had it not been for the series and it's odd grip on teenage America via MTV. The fact that most of them are illiterate with no desire to further an education makes me wonder what they are going to do when the cast is changed (which is going to happen either next year or the following per MTV). Given enough time, they are all easily forgettable. I only read this article to see why she was being sued but has been nice not to see any of the fake tans and ridiculous outfits for a while. People like this need to remember the MC Hammer theory - it's really easy to burn through money and then never get hired again. Good for her for making money for being ridiculed on TV and hopefully she will learn that extending her education will save her in later life. Doubtful, but you never know.

I can honestly say that the only reason I ever pay any attention to young female 'celebrities' of any kind is to admire their hotness. Snooki, with her trashy, trampy Jersey-girl-next-door look style, is one of my favorites. Who needs models or actors?

I do not understand how the oven baked, heavy over done make up and trashy look is appealing. We all know reality shows are staged. I mean who seriously walks around like a "umpa-lumpa" creature?

I have never watched it either but I think she is cute, too. And sort of sweet and harmless. I guess she behaves silly sometimes but I acted out a bit when I was her age.

Poor little Snooki. She needs to get a good attorney and retain an equally good agent. Then maybe stuff like this wouldn't happen. A couple of business courses wouldn't be remiss, either.
