Rooney Mara Talks Christmas Traditions On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon'

She may be known for her piercings and ass-kicking skills, but Lisbeth Salander has a secret festive side.

Appearing on "The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon," Rooney Mara spilled some details on her family's epic family celebration. As one of forty cousins, Mara comes from a long line of football royalty: Her great-grandfathers are Tim Mara, founder of the New York Giants, and Art Rooney, founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And with her practically royal lineage comes a humiliating Christmas tradition: Sitting on Santa's lap. "Every Christmas Eve we have a Santa Claus come, and we have to sit on his lap to get our presents," Mara says. Better yet, "Santa" is usually one of her uncles. "It's really embarrassing," she says.

Not that this comes as much of a surprise, as Mara told The Huffington Post that even her "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" character can be childish. "She's this genius and she's brilliant," Mara says. "But at the same time she's kind of naive and emotionally stunted at 11 or 12 years old. So I think that sort of makes her very unpredictable; you don't really know what you're going to get, what's going to pop out of her."

As for Lisbeth sitting on Santa's lap, we doubt that will be happening anytime soon.
