The Best Hats Of 2011! (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 12/22/2011 7:59 am   Updated: 12/22/2011 8:44 am

2011 has been quite the style-packed year, but let us suggest one more sartorial moniker for it: the year of the hat.

From the trippy fascinators at the royal wedding (obvi) to harried celebs hiding from the paparazzi behind giant brims to Herman Cain's beloved fedora, it seems hats were all the rage.

Style wise, stars seemed to ditch the knit caps and tubular beanies that have been popular in recent years in favor of more structured toppers with brims, like fedoras and bowlers. We even had stylish baby hats like wee Skyler Berman's newsboy cap.

Check out our gallery below of some of the craziest, most chic and downright on-trend hats of 2011!

To me the best hats of 2011 are the re-trending of driving/ivy caps..both guys and gals looks so nice in this classic style....the Cuba St. brand on the web seems to be a spot to post cool pics of the latest trends.

I see lots of negative feedback for the hats of 2011; I liked a few of those that Kim K. wore, but none of those worn by the Royals. I do like hats though, mostly those scrunch-able floppy hats to take on cruises . . . they cover lots of sins and don't look bad, either. Anything is better than my dearly departed Grandma's babushkas!

Hats? These things look like primitive head ornaments for a witch doctor.

This absolute 'fashion nonsense' is one of the very many reasons why women are so very often the objects of ridicule and scorn. Just one look at the way that Lady CaCa dresses and every doubt that you ever had is gone in one fell swoop. Sigh...

How STUPID! Years from now, hopefully, they'll sit back and wonder, "What was I thinking?"

Most of these are hideous and not even remotely attractive. Do any of these women have mirrors? I have seen a few women rock a fedora however, and on the right woman, it's sexy as hell.

The hats and the wearers are all gorgeous. I love hats! I couldnt' and wouldn't wear any of them shown...but they were quite appropriate for celebrity wear. Queen Elizabeth's hats were stunning, and her outfits were totally so well put together. Long live hats on celebrities and royalty!!!

Ok, You would expect it from Lady Gaga, but Sarah Jessica Parker, what were you thinking? Actually none of them really made an impression, IMO, but if you asked me which one I like the best it would be Michelle Trachtenberg's hat. At least in that photo. She looks very classy Victorian, and besides she's very hot looking too!

Sara Parker doesn't need anything on her huge horsehead to make it look any bigger like that stupid "Hat".

Those hauty snobbish Britts all look like dam fools. They can't even see it.
