When FedEx crafted the slogan "we live to deliver," the image of a FedEx delivery man smashing a delicate package upon arrival probably wasn't what the company had in mind.
But that's exactly how it played out for at least one recent recipient of a FedEx package, according to the above YouTube video. The incident occurred outside the home of someone expecting a computer monitor via the delivery giant, according to The Daily Mail.
The delivery man, caught by a security camera, carries the box to the gates of the house and, without even ringing the door bell, carelessly throws the package over the fence.
Racking up over 2.4 million hits and counting, it didn't take too long for the viral video to make its way to FedEx corporate executives, according to The New York Post.
"This was careless treatment of a customer package by our courier and it will be addressed. We take pride in the quality of service we provide to millions of customers daily and we will not tolerate any irresponsible act that affects the quality of any item we deliver and the good reputation FedEx is known for worldwide," FedEx spokeswoman Shea Leordeanu said.
FedEX recently posted a 76 percent jump in company profits, according to The New York Times. On December 12, FedEx delivered 17 million packages, the most in its history. From Thanksgiving until Christmas, the delivery giant is expected to move an estimated 260 million packages overall.

Eastman Kodak's run as a public company may be over soon. That would put the jobs of many of its 18,000 employees in jeopardy. Analysts think Kodak's patents may be worth much more than that the company. Kodak has begun the process to find a buyer for these patents. MDB Capital Group told Bloomberg that the digital-imaging patents owned by Kodak may be valued at $3 billion in a sale. A sale of patents could mean Kodak will not keep all of its divisions. Second quarter sales at the company were down 5% in the past quarter to $1.5 billion. Kodak lost $179 million in the same time period. Its Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group sales dropped 14% to $369 million for the quarter. This is the area of the company's business where it would be logical to start the next in a long line of lay-offs. Kodak's cash position has become desperate. It has $957 million on hand compared to $1.624 billion at the end of the second quarter a year ago.

I am just SOOO ...NOT surprised. And I absolutely and positively REFUSE to use FedEx
for anything.....and haven't for years.....
I live 400 feet BACK down a path IN the woods. FedEx.....lovely FedEx would either leave
a package ON the ground by the mailbox (at the beginning of the path)...where ANY one could steal it....OR leave it on my "front steps"....which had NO sidewalk to...WHILE totally IGNORING the sidewalk leading to the back door. And I NEVER looked for packages on the FRONT steps....
A friend of mine here has THREE times had to retrieve his "FedEx" package from a QUARTER
MILE down the road at someone else's house. Different name...different street address.....but
listed as "delivered"... And where it was dropped off....they left it on the back steps and THOSE
folks NEVER go out THEIR back door......it COULD have sat there for literally DAYS in the rain.
UPS on the other hand......leaves packages on the little back deck......evidently they are SMART
enough to recognize that a "sidewalk" HAS "significance"............especially when you're in the
"woods".
Uhhhh.......I'd rather do without it than have to "risk" it coming thru FedEx.............
ChickEpoo: I am just SOOO ...NOT surprised. And I absolutely and
I know the FEDEX people in my area are every bit as careless and so where the ones in Grand Rapids when I was in college.
I bought an LCD monitor for my computer while in college, in 2001 so it was like $500. The dude left it at the front door, no knock, no doorbell, nothing. In the middle of a huge city at a big apartment building in a box that clearly labeled what was in it.
Where I live now it is constant problems with them. I have yet to have one knock or ring my doorbell. Somehow the UPS man doesn't have this problem and same goes for the USPS people.
Fedex sucks.

Exactly.
That sneaky little bit of policy that was enacted by King Dumbyuh has nearly reached it's fruition in defunding the USPS to the brink of insolvency.
(another, little known, tick mark in the "Win" column for Repubs to be proud of)
SkeeBee: Exactly. That sneaky little bit of policy that was enacted
Assuming that King Dumbyuh is referring to the last president, which "sneaky little bit of policy" are you referring to that was enacted between 2001 and 2009? I'm not being sarcastic, I just don't know what you are referring to. I thought the USPS was supposed to be self-funded and they had the capacity to increase postal rates.
from the NACL's page:
Taxpayers covered 23.3% of postal costs in 1971. A subsidy of that level in 2007 would have been approximately $16.9 billion. But direct subsidies to the USPS were phased out between 1972 and 1982. Today the USPS is funded entirely by revenues from postage.

Don't blame the man on this video... He is NOT the only one... don't single out!
People expecting delivery should also consider how they can deliver... so...
Happy Holidays!
P.S. My package was intact...since I do not have photoed type of gate...
munki: Don't blame the man on this video... He is NOT
Oh get off it he didn't even check to see if the gate was open or if someone was home to accept the package. But that's the attitude of people "mine is fine so who cares about you." Guess what...it could be your package next time!!!
Objection21: Oh get off it he didn't even check to see
A lot of my friends disagree with what I said about this man. The employee is taught to do the job and drop off the package as quick as possible.
My friends are fools as often I sit and wait for their packages to be delivered. No bell or door is ever knocked on.
The only way a package is not left is if it is specified not to be left. Lots get dropped off at their neighbors etc.
This is just another way to demonize the working people-why do we never see stories and see pictures of banking and wall street execs having a cocktail lunch etc. or what they say about their customers?
Humm, people may be surprised what some of these people are like-some live in my area.
fortressfountain: A lot of my friends disagree with what I said
The delivery guy should be fired, FedEx should make good on the damaged package at its expense and this video should be used as part of a training film for FedEx delivery people to show that this behavior is unacceptable, that they could be caught by someone videoing such behavior at any time (i.e. you won't get away with it) and they will be fired.
