Newly crowned "Dancing With the Stars" champ and father-to-be J.R. Martinez is finding that being famous brings a lot of attention from fans. Last night he joked on his Twitter feed that he was recognized by a fan in Target, but she thought he was someone else.
"Walked thru #target earlier and a lady was staring at me. As I passed her she shouted, 'Sir, weren't you on #americanidol' I said no ma'am."
However, she just didn't believe him. "She then said, 'yes you were'. There was no way of me telling her other wise. She was convinced. I cracked up saying wish I could #sing."
So, if Martinez were to compete on "American Idol," what would he sing? He quipped that his first track would be British singer Adele's power ballad "Set Fire to the Rain."
Although Martinez claims he can't sing, maybe he can practice by singing lullabies to his daughter. He and girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones recently confirmed that they are expecting a baby girl in 2012.
