R. Kelly 'Trapped In The Closet': Singer Ready To Film 32 More Chapters

Who could forget R. Kelly's stroke of sheer soap operatic brilliance back in 2005 when, out of nowhere, the R&B singer released a curious song series called "Trapped in the Closet"? Sure, much of it was fairly standard -- one-night stands, sex, and lies -- but it was the truly bizarre -- a neighbor with a spatula, a midget who battles with incontinence -- that kept us captivated for the 22 chapters Kelly would eventually release, and catapulted the series from to entertaining to epic. It also sparked a number of parodies, from "Saturday Night Live" to "South Park."

Now Kelly says he's back with more of his beloved "hip hopera" -- his terminology, not ours -- with a whopping 32 new chapters. The 44-year-old "I Believe I Can Fly" singer told TMZ that he's game to film nearly three dozen new chapters, but not without a little funding first.

"It costs a lot of money to do... so we're actually looking for investors," Kelly said.

Really? You need help.

Responding with an irrelevant topic to an old argument from what . . . .3-4 months ago?

Did I affect you THAT badly? You probably dream about me. And how does the Black Film Critics Circle has any credibility in determining what is self-respecting to the black image? Relatively unknown and innocuously trite. Blacks in entertainment and media (this means you too) have abdicated simple logic and self-respect long ago in order to merely taste success on white terms even if it means denigrating yourselves. And you wonder why some problems are self-propagating?

OK, I know what I say will be wretchedly unpopular, but those episodes got surprisingly funny. AND, even watching just a few seconds makes Weird Al's 'Trapped in the Drive thru' that much funnier.

The first 22 chapters of Trapped in the Closet are either a work of staggering genius or insanity. It doesn't matter which to me because I loved it either way.

Here's hoping for more Omar in the next 32!

"does it again" is the headline.
You know what I thought it meant. Thought I had to lock up my underage teenage daughter.
04:18 PM on 12/21/2011
lol I thought so too. Just before I read it I ran up to the roof top shouting, "hide your children, the pied piper is in town!!!"

Like Jackson, Polanski, and the catholic church, there's nothing Kelly could do that would put off die hard fans.
