Tom Cruise: David Beckham Should Be In Movies

Want to see Beckham bend it on the big screen? Tom Cruise is on the case.

At the "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" premiere, Cruise told The Daily Mirror that he wants to take on Hollywood with the soccer legend.

"I'd love to do action movies with Beckham, he would be great," Cruise said. "He could kick ass." This isn't the first time Cruise has gotten this idea in his head: he has previously mentioned Beckham "would make a great baddie," but said that if he helped push along Beckham's acting career the favor would come with strings attached. "David would have to teach me to play soccer first," he joked.

Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes have been close with Beckham and wife Victoria since 2003 when Holmes and Cruise greeted the British couple with open arms when they came to Los Angeles, and their bond was strengthened when Cruise sent Beckham the velvet jacket he wore in "Jerry Maguire" after finding out his pals had seen the film on their first date.
