Erika Huerta And Jerry Wengert, Broward Sheriff's Office's Reality TV Stars, Under Investigation

BSO Reality TV Stars Under Investigation

Two Broward Sheriff's Office deputies who have recently starred in reality TV shows are under investigation, according to reports.

Deputy Erika Huerta of TLC's "Police Women of Broward County" is the subject of an internal affairs investigation after a traffic stop in Pompano Beach in which she fired her gun at an unarmed man, the South Florida Times confirmed.

Huerta was not accompanied by cameras when she pulled over a car with a wrong and expired tag on September 28. According to NBCMiami, she stated in her report that after the driver put his hands in and out of the car several times she saw a dark object in his hand that he refused to drop. She fired once "to eliminate the threat," the report states, but missed. Click over to the South Florida Times for all the details.

Potentially facing more trouble is Deputy Jerry Wengert, who appeared in TLC/Discovery's “Unleashed: K-9 Broward County." Wengart is under criminal investigation for falsifying records, Broward Bulldog reports, though what prompted the investigation has not yet been made public.
