Seth Rogen Wants To Take Down Barbra Streisand, For Charity

For those familiar with the term, Seth Rogen is what every Jewish grandmother would call a mensch.

Or so we thought.

Rogen is teaming up with Barbra Streisand, the mother of all Jewish mothers, and it looks like things are far less loving than we'd imagine.

"I would love to take her down more than anything," Rogen told Marc Malkin.

Rogen's slight was completely playful, of course; the co-stars are just trying to raise the most money for a charity of their choice in Mozilla Firefox's Crowdrise challenge.

"She has a lot more rich friends than I do, so it's going to be hard, but I'm doing press. I don't think she is, so this could be my one saving grace," he said.

Despite their friendly competition, Rogen said that being on-set with Streisand felt very familiar to him.

"She offered me a lot of food I didn't want to eat," he laughed. "Like a good Jewish mother. I realized after working with Barbra Streisand that I think all Jewish mothers have kind of modeled themselves after Barbra Streisand. Like she's the blueprint for all our mothers' behaviors, and I met the source and I get it now."

"My Mother's Curse" will be directed by romantic comedy veteran Anne Fletcher ('The Proposal,' '27 Dresses') and based on a script by Disney veteran Dan Fogelman ('Cars,' 'Tangled,' 'Bolt') and hits theaters Nov. 2, 2012.
