Police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old Chicago boy who apparently was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
CBS Chicago reports that police responded to the home in the 100 block of South Parkside Avenue just before 11 p.m. Friday, when they discovered the boy unresponsive in a bedroom .
The boy, who had sufefred a gunshot wound to his head, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital late Thursday, NBC Chicago reports.
The Chicago Police Department is not treating the incident as a homicide, but are interviewing witnesses to determine whether it was an accident or suicide. An autopsy is slated for Friday.
