Drug Grower Decorated Cannabis Plant As Christmas Tree

A cannabis grower who decided to decorate a 5ft pot plant as his Christmas tree, will now be spending Christmas behind bars.

Kent Police say they discovered the cannabis tree after raiding the house of 46-year-old Ian Richards in Aylesham, near Canterbury.

There, in addition to a hydroponic cannabis factory in his bedroom, they found the fully-grown festive cannabis plant -- complete with red and green baubles.

While Richards claimed the plants were for his own personal use, it was decided his factory had the potential to produce a large quantity of cannabis.

As such he was recently jailed for 18 months after appearing at Canterbury Crown Court.

Investigating officer PC Darren Dennett said: "By using a 5ft tall cannabis plant as a Christmas tree Richards showed a total disregard for the law.

"One of the bedrooms at his home had been transformed into a very sophisticated cannabis factory. He is now spending his Christmas in prison."

Documentaries like Weed Wars aren't doing the freedom lovers any good. The conditioning of Reefer Madness still runs too deep in our society for this kind of portrayal. Cannabis lovers need to make it known that a lot of cannabis consumers can stay sober long enough to make rational and logical business decisions and stay on top of the decisions already made. Weed needs help to be taken out of the druggie lexicon and out of the gateway drug houses. The latest survey shows qualifying citizens choose medical cannabis over alcohol and driving fatalities have decreased in the 15 states. Washington state citizens just voted to remove state control over liquor sales and our medical marijuana supporting senator just took a turn for more restrictions, the ACLU (courtesy of the Nixon Admin & Shafer commission) wants to charge people with DUI for 5ng/ml when one toke off a joint puts a user over 15ng/ml. The NHTSA said cannabis isn't solely responsible for fatalities. SHAMSHA said society isn't demanding the prohibition. Law enforcement is the only remaining entity keeping citizens conditioned to reefer madness for job security

All you need for a cannabis factory is some dirt, a seed, a special light and some water.
