Danny's a fine singer and an all around good guy who is now having a nice career in country music. Idol tried to shove his tragic backstory down our throats in Season 8, which backfired on Gokey. Cowell is still doing the same thing on that crappy XFactor, which is an inferior version of Idol.

Yes his first wife died of a heart condition I believe.
