Molly Sims' Top Exercise Motivation Tips

Posted: 12/27/2011 7:05 am

In the upcoming January issue of Shape, (on newstands December 26) Molly Sims shares some fool-proof tips for staying motivated to work out. (New Year's resolution, anyone?)

The model, actress, designer and now Project Accessory host admits that keeping her body TV-ready is hard work. "This does not come naturally," she told Shape. "I have to work out 60 to 90 minutes at least five days a week and stick to a high-fiber, low-calorie eating plan."

So how does Sims stay motivated to stick to such a grueling routine? One helpful tip is to reward yourself for your fitness accomplishments. Pick a goal along the lines of "I'm going to get up every morning at 6:30 to work out," Sims said. "Then, when I've kept with it all week, I give myself something I really want, like a new handbag or a piece of jewelry I'm coveting."

Another fun piece of fitness advice is to get sweaty with your special someone. "My mom was on my daddy to exercise all the time," Sims told Shape. "She was like, 'Listen buddy, if I'm doing this, you're doing it too.' And I agree!" Today, Sims and her husband make sure to coordinate their exercise plans, she said.

But they're not the only celebrity couple who stays fit together. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo trained for a triathlon together, according to FitSugar. And Heidi Klum and Seal threw some healthy competition into the mix when they held a seven-week contest to see who ran more miles, Men's Health reports.

Still can't drag yourself to the gym? Try scheduling fitness into your day like any other appointment -- and don't cancel!

I like how Molly Sims has really come up in the rankings. I remember when she was doing commercials for Old Navy/Model Shoots and then broke into the television. I think she is an excellent Fitness Enthusiast too.
