Rick Santorum Claims Momentum Ahead Of Iowa Caucus 2012

MIKE GLOVER   12/28/11 09:51 AM ET   AP

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa — Republican hopeful Rick Santorum is claiming momentum heading into the Iowa caucuses.

The former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania mingled with 25 people at a diner in Independence, Iowa, and touted his plan to give a tax break to businesses that move their operations back to the United States.

He has lagged in the polls but Santorum told diners Wednesday that things are going great and his campaign has momentum.

Santorum has been arguing that he's the most consistent conservative in the field. He's making that case in a new radio ad that began airing Wednesday and will run through next Tuesday's caucuses. The spot touts his hardline opposition to abortion and describes him as a "father of seven, a home-schooler and a devoted husband for 21 years."

Rick can claim but than again there is a thing called reality.
He has all the momentum of a Palin at the height of her Paul Revere 'saga'.

We all knew it was only a matter of time before we saw this happening -- Santorum moving up from "behind".... The front-runner must have dropped the soap.

im sorry, but i don't think santorum will win Iowa. Ron may win, but given that GOP thinks he's irrelevant, that would be the end of his candidacy.

OK. Now you are coming up in the polls, just state your own agenda. Just tell us what YOU will do. Hissing doesn't get you anywhere.

A home-schooler? I guess he wouldn't want to take the chance that any of his kids might have to talk to a Jew or a Black or catch being gay

He lost big time for Senator in PA because he took public school tax dollar to pay for his Children's private schooling. He declared residence in PA when was living in Virginia. He is one you can not trust.

I doubt if he would even carry the state of Pennsylvania if somehow, God forbid, he got the nod.

As a former resident of Iowa, I am ashamed that any Iowans would support this clown. He brings nothing to the table except to eliminate the separation of church and state, and use his clout to punish gay people.

If 25 people is the best Santorum can do, he needs to find a day job....

I hope Rick Santorum is right. He is the best hope the Republicans have. God speed Rick,

Lordy, if Santorum is the "best hope" the Republicans have, they're in BIG trouble!

Santorum is going up in the polls? This just goes to prove that the Republicans are in BIG trouble.

Really classy the way they cut the video to make his face look like that.

Rick Santorum has no chance.

I have seen photos and videos where his face is red. Then I saw him on Huffington Post at a beer tasting event. His face looked normal that time, but it made me wonder whether drinking had made his face remain flushed the next day, on other occasions.

They do it on mosts of the Republican candiates pictures for some reason. They use unattractive pictures.

Must be brain freezing cold in Iowa if he's making headway. That can be the only logical conclusion.
