The Basics
Located in central New York along New York State Route 91,
is a 30-minute drive from Syracuse, New York. The closest airport is Syracuse Hancock International Airport. This family-oriented ski resort offers lessons for both adults and children. During the regular season, Labrador Mountain is open until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Mountain
Labrador Mountain is 1,825 feet high and features a 700-foot vertical drop. The regular season, from early December to March, usually lasts 100 days. The
averages about 125 inches of snow annually. The resort also has the ability to make snow across 90 percent of the slopes. The snow on Labrador Mountain is powdery, and the longest run is nearly one mile in length.
Trails And Lifts
Skiers will find a total of 22 slopes and
, with the percentages spread nearly evenly between beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels on the 250 acres of Labrador Mountain. There are two double chairlifts to take skiers to the top of the Southern Peak and Northern Peak of the mountain, and a triple chairlift for the Central Peak. The signature trail is the Razor Back located on the Northern Peak. Labrador Mountain has two terrain parks and offers a half-pipe, tubing, night skiing and glades.
In The News
Labrador Mountain has a junior racing program through its Ski Club that has been training ski racers for nearly 40 years. Skiers can also join Team NASTAR, (
) a racing program developed by Ski magazine. The resort hosts races through NASTAR as well as other groups almost weekly during the regular ski season. Labrador Mountain's Tuesday Night Fun Race League has been around since 1991.
Cost
A basic
begins at $25 for one hour and goes up to $45 for a nine-hour ticket. Regular skiers can purchase
that start at $358 for adults if purchased early, with discounts for children and seniors. Rental packages including snowboards and alpines are available starting at $20.
