Moose Mountain is generally open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Skiers and snowboarders can pack in several hours of fun during the daylight. The resort is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. much of the season, but it closes at 3 p.m. during the short days around the winter solstice. March and April hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Moose Mountain Ski Resort is a fairly small place, but it was in the news in 2011 due to a major fire that spread throughout the area. According to the
, the fire covered an area between 700 and 800 acres, and firefighters battled the blaze for two days before bringing it under control. The fire impacted Goldstream Road, one of the major routes up to Moose Mountain, with heavy emergency vehicle traffic. The ski resort was not damaged during the blaze.

Cost

Moose Mountain offers several options for
. The passes entitle guests to an all-day skiing or snowboarding adventure. An adult ticket is priced at $37, and a student or military guest, with proper identification, can enjoy a day of skiing for $32. Children ages 7 to 12 can ski for $23 per day, and children 6 and younger and adults 70 and older ski for free. Ski rental packages cost $25 per day and include skis, boots and poles. Snowboard and boot rentals also run $25 per day.
