Mitt Romney, Chris Christie Speak In Iowa In Front Of Supporters, Occupy Wall Street Protesters

New Jersey governor and Mitt Romney supporter Chris Christie joined the GOP presidential candidate on the campaign trail Friday, delivering a speech to a crowd gathered at one of the stops on Romney's Iowa bus tour.

"President Barack Obama came out to Iowa three years ago and he talked to you about hope and change," Christie said, according to the Washington Post. "Well, let me tell ya. After three years of Obama, we are hopeless and changeless and we need Mitt Romney to bring us back, to bring America back."

Christie also appeared to channel HBO's hit show "The Sopranos," joking that he would seek mob-style retribution against Iowans who don't caucus for Romney on Jan. 3.

"I want to tell you something," he said. "I'm in a good mood this morning and if you people disappoint me on Tuesday, I will be back Jersey-style, people."

The rally was well-attended by Romney supporters, but as Urbandale Patch reports, members of Occupy Des Moines also braved the chilly temperatures and drizzle to attempt to make their message heard.

It didn't go over exactly as planned.

The Occupy DSM movement said online this morning that it had done a "mic-check" shout to stop the candidate. But, the hecklers weren't audible to the candidate across the parking lot.

The Occupy protesters shouted the same demands they made at Romney's Iowa office on Wednesday: to stop taking corporate campaign donations and to fully disclose his financial information. Police escorted the protesters off the premises.
