Every year, City of Miami officials and police ask South Floridians to withhold from firing their guns in the air in celebration of New Year's Eve.
So what can you do besides throw your glock in the air to commemorate the change to 2012? For starters you can party naked or see that mythological creature known as Lauryn Hill. See below for the best Miami events this New Year's Eve weekend.

That glowing fruit in the sky is turning 25. The City of Miami's official NYE celebration hosts Big Orange, who will rise to the top of the InterContinental Hotel at the stroke of midnight. There will also be fireworks and performances by the likes of Ludacris.
