Grosse Pointe Shores trucking magnate Matty Moroun has asked to be excused from facing contempt of court sanctions next week over the $230 million Gateway Project dispute, stating he isn't the owner of the Detroit International Bridge Co.
In a motion filed Dec. 22 in Wayne County Circuit Court, Moroun's attorneys told Judge Prentis Edwards that "Mr. Moroun is not the owner of DIBC. DIBC is owned by DIBC Holdings Inc." of which the "Manuel J. Moroun Trust ... is a minority owner of DIBC Holdings."
