Mischa Barton stuck around Miami Beach after ringing in 2012 and decided to make a real splash on Monday.

"The O.C" actress was spotted relaxing, reading and working on her tan in Miami last week, but it seems Barton wanted to get a little more active in the new year.

Barton was all smiles as she and a friend jumped on some jet skis for some fun in the water, even giving some waves to people on the shore. Later, the actress, who was decked out in a fashionable beach ensemble, and her friend enjoyed a beachside smoothie at a nearby cafe.
