Terrell Suggs Rips Tim Tebow: 'We Don't Need God On Our Sidelines'

'We Don't Need God On Our Sidelines'

With the Broncos having backed into the 2012 NFL playoffs despite a 7-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, it's almost impossible NOT to talk about Tim Tebow. Even if you've grown tired of Tebowing and bored of the debate about his relative skillset, the God-fearing young man is starting a playoff at home. So, you're going to be hearing about him, for better and for worse.

On Tuesday, Baltimore Ravens defensive standout Terrell Suggs got in on the Tebow talk on ESPN's "First Take" and took a few shots at the polarizing quarterback.

"With all due respect, we don’t need God on our sidelines," the five-time Pro Bowl linebacker said. "Once again, God had to save Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. He (Tebow) couldn’t even give them two drives? 7 to 3."

Referring to Denver's meek effort in the season finale, Suggs doesn't seem fearful that his Ravens will be troubled by a team that needed San Diego to edge Oakland just to get into the postseason tournament.

The Baltimore star, who never shies away from trash talking, has a bye in the first round so we can expect more from his mouth in the coming weeks.

Suggs isn't the only one to rip Tebow recently. After falling to the Broncos in the middle of December, Bears Pro Bowler Brian Urlacher called Tebow "a good running back," seemingly taking a shot at his throwing abilities.

Even Saturday Night Live and Bill Maher have gotten in on Tebowmania. "Wow, Jesus just fucked #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve!" Maher tweeted. Of course, Maher received an enormous negative backlash for that tweet. Will Suggs get the same treatment?
